The Whitehall Township Bureau of Police is committed to protecting the rights of all persons, serving the community and promoting a safe and secure environment, free from crime and the fear of crime. The Department's Vision, Mission and Core Values reflect the guiding philosophy of the men and women of the Whitehall Township Bureau of Police.

It is the vision of Whitehall Township Bureau of Police to, as closely as possible, attain a township free from crime and public disorder.
The Mission Statement of the WPD
It is the mission of the Whitehall Township Bureau of Police to protect the lives and property of the people we serve, to maintain order, to reduce the prevalence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working with the diverse populations to improve their quality of life. We realize that the Police alone cannot regulate crime, but must act in unison with the community in order to achieve our goals. Our mandate is to do so with highest degree of honor and integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the utmost ethical standards to maintain public confidence.
Motto of the WPD - To Protect and To Serve
The Whitehall Township Bureau of Police has adopted the motto used by the Los Angeles Police Department since 1955. The motto is perhaps the simplest and most accurate statement that pertains to policing. These five words contain all of the meaning that a police officer holds true while performing their tasks. It is a simple yet powerful reminder that they are empowered to protect the community and other officers while serving the needs of the public who entrust them to do so.
